...because that's probably what killed it at the box office. Perfunctory direction doesn't hamper a good script and a great cast. It even has Dickie Moore. The star is Junior Coughlin as a well-intended youth gone off the rails. An ideal double bill item to go with the minor classic HELL HOUSE with Bette Davis, Pat O'brien and the ill-fated Junior Durkin. You can see how all these low-budget films that got dumped on the European market after WWII influenced neo-realism and new wave.
