Synopsis
Silas Wayne's will leaves the bulk of his estate to his niece, but the cursed Candor diamond catches the eye of someone who can't wait for the old man to die. When he's mysteriously stabbed to death in front of the police and his heirs, Detective -Sergeant Mitchell and newspaper reporter 'Nosey" Toodles work together to solve the crime.

Picfixer has it succinctly summed up. But, here are a few comments about some of the actors. Could have done without the servant Jeff (Fred "Snowflake" Toones, a Stepin Fetchit type, but a black servant for comic relief was par for the course in those days. And, the girls, Nadine Dore (Gloria Dryden), Isabelle Vecki (Sarah Boulter) and June Clyde ("Nosey" Toodles) were all cute, although Clyde was the only with a long career as an actress. Dwight Frye (Robert Wayne) made a good sullen suspect. Lucille LaVerne (Miss Sheen) had a surly, sullen and nutty presence. Worth hanging in there for an…
