I found this at a dollar store as a double feature dvd the other feature is the trial with;Anthony Perkins,another good movie it really is a shame that the stranger is in pd,great performances by Orson Welles and Edward G Robinson.i recommend the stranger to all classic movie buffs.great movie.

This is a great thriller. The acting couldn't be better. The cinematography is amazing. There is one shot where you see Welles and Young in silouette facing eachother after kissing that is especially beautiful. Look for a very young Richard Long who puts in a great support to the greats in this movie.

This has always been one of my favorite Welles movies. Straightforward entertainment under the studio system. No great innovation but superior thriller with Welles, Edward G Robinson, and Loretta Young.
