Synopsis
Superba Pictures' press agent, Bob Preston, convinces his boss, Herman Cline, to sign his girl friend, June Dale, an aspiring actress, to a studio contract. Although June is hurled into movie stardom, the intense pressure of Bob's endless publicity stunts and Hollywood party-going makes her long for the simple joys of quiet married life. When she begins to suspect that Bob is more interested in star-building than in love, she quarrels with him and goes out with wealthy admirer Gordon Douglas.…

Who needs a barrel of monkeys when you have a bevy of B-feature cuties? This musical drama(?)…er, comedy(?) about the phony side of Hollywood opens okay, but almost immediately falters with a feebly staged production number. Then things move progressively downhill, occasionally punctuated by astonishingly unfunny interludes of comic relief. Stars William Haines (awful) and Judith Allen (mediocre). The only actors who escape with their reputations more or less intact are Joseph Crawthorn, John Miljan and the ubiquitous Franklin Pangborn. The Direction? Well, there is some. Had they tried just…
