You can swear you've seen this flick with straight arrow Tommy "Tailspin" Tompkins and the neighborhood gang down at the airport. There's the kid with a no good brother, Tommy's slightly scruffy buddy, Skeeter, and Tommy's girl, the bodacious Betty Lou. Of course, you actually haven't seen this one unless you are over a certain age. They just don't make these any more. It's a good movie. It even has good special effects. I'll admit, I enjoyed Danger Flight more than I care to admit. This tale, rather bizarrely nicely sliced into two stories, focuses on Tailspin Tommy Thompkins, a pilot who's not really a superhero, sometimes takes bad advice, falls into stupid traps, and fails to win any fights he's in. I guess this is what makes him so appealing. Anyways, this story essentially follows some dark shady character's attempt to steal the payroll shipment that Tommy is delivering. In the first half, we have a nifty story about how a kid named Whitey (!!) is reformed and how Tailspin is no good at flying at night!…

I enjoyed this film .It is a Bsecond feature and would have been shown before the main much more expensive film. It is a refreshing break from Television when after viewing convorted stories,stupid advertising etc, I am usually left tired and mildly depressed. I admire the makers of these films for their craftmanship.

An at-risk kid is taken under the wing of pilot "Tailspin" Tommy Tompkins, who introduces him to the joys of building balsa wood and tissue model airplanes. When Tommy crash lands in a storm, the boy helps rescue him by using the miniature plane as a signal to the search parties.
