Synopsis

A very taut film. I think it's worth saying, so I'll say it; any film by Robert Hamer is worth watching. He was a very talented, under rated director. If you rate David Thomson as a critic: As many do. "According to film critic David Thomson, Hamer's career "now looks like the most serious miscarriage of talent in the Post-war British cinema".[11]
